From the very first sip, Shelby and Milena loved coffee...Not really. It's an acquired taste, much like Shelby and Milena, the owners of stijf en stomen.
"After graduating from Marquette University, we wanted to use our refined barista and bartending skills and pursue our love of coffee. Another important avenue we wanted to go down was promoting local art and music. In this day and age, the little guy needs a leg up, and we want to give them that. Because that's who we are. The little guys." -Milena "It's always been a part of my dream to own my own business and what better way to achieve that than with one of my best friends!" -Shelby |
While Milena enjoys your typical walks on the beach and candlelit dinners, you can also find her taking on the newest challenger at the mini golf course, experimenting with new drink recipes, and attempting to recreate the DIY crafts she finds on Pinterest.

When Shelby isn't thrifting for the latest crazy sweater, she's always on the look out for the next best gluten-free recipe. In order to continue expanding the number of our gluten-free menu items, Shelby constantly bakes and samples new recipes. What's with the name?
You may have noticed, our name is a little funky. Well, we wanted to capture the essence of both alcoholic beverages
and coffee-based drinks. The two words that came to mind first were stiff and steamy. Many others appeared in
the brainstorming process, but Shelby and Milena saw that those two sounded just right together. In order
to avoid sounding too provocative or too risque. We decided to put the words in a different language.
